The Journal of Legal Studies is an open-access academic journal that employs a closed, double-blind peer-review process. It has been published since 2009 (1388 in the Iranian calendar) by the Faculty of Law and Political Science at Shiraz University and, since 2023 (1402 in the Iranian calendar), under a joint cooperation agreement with the Iranian Association of Constitutional Law. The Journal aims to advance legal scholarship, deepen the study of law within Iran’s legal community, and contribute to enhancing the knowledge and expertise of legal practitioners and legislative officials in the country.

The Journal seeks to promote in-depth scholarly discussion of the various branches of legal studies, including Private Law, Criminal Law and Criminology, International Law, and Public Law, together with their related sub-disciplines. In doing so, it adheres to rigorous academic and professional standards while seeking to give greater attention to emerging dimensions of legal scholarship in response to recent developments.

In pursuit of these objectives, the Journal welcomes submissions from university professors, legal scholars, and postgraduate students in law and related disciplines, provided that their work contributes to the realization of these aims. Submitted manuscripts undergo scientific evaluation and are considered for publication based on their assessment results and compliance with the Journal’s academic and editorial standards.
